Zwift has been running a set of monthly Race Series. The latest one was Race Scotland. This was a series of 4 races, one per week during February all set on the new world of Scotland. There are multiple races each day of the relevant week and people can attempt as many as they want, with their best time going into the GC.
I was running in the top 10 with one race to go, so I made an effort to ensure I raced when the other leaders were, so that my final GC position would be largely in my hands.
I knew it would be a tough race and mentally I was prepared for it, expecting to have to set a 2023 PB for the first 5 minutes of the race. I did in fact set that new PB and went on to finish 8th with my best ever Zwift Ranking points finish.
This left me 7th in the GC and I thought it was unlikely there would be another race that week with the same quality of riders so the time was probably fairly secure.
As the final race of the series finished, the top 10 places remained unchanged so I secured my Top-10 GC finish which is pleasing. 1,219 C Cat riders completed all 4 races and 11,359 riders raced in one or more.
It is likely that I'll be back in the B Category soon, so all this finishing high up in races will disappear!
