I bought some SKS P45 mudguards for £23 and then two bar bags as there was a 3 for 2 accessories offer on - so got that lot for £261 which I thought was a great deal. The guys at Halfords in Sheldon put the mudguards on - which took a while as the eyelets had been painted over and wouldn't take the bolts!
I got the bike home and put a set of SPD pedals on plus my Specialised 143 saddle. Next came the Garmin mount and get my setup sorted. I plan to put my rack on but for today just used my cantilever rack.
It's certainly not a speed machine and the front brake feels a bit weak, but I think it will be a good wet weather workhorse.
Coming back to Wendy's bike. The toe overlap on the Boardman was so bad that we decided not to buy it (hence having £800 of Halfords vouchers knocking around!) and we bought a lovely silver Felt from the Bike Yard in leamington. Wendy now loves this bike and is swiftly becoming Queen of the Mountains on it.
